COMMON SCHOLARSHIP QUESTIONS
(FAQ’s)
1- Do I have to pay the Moving Forward Scholarship back?
No, the full scholarship amount is an award for you to keep and not pay back, although we hope you continue to volunteer and give back to your community!
2- How do I receive my scholarship funds?
Scholarship funds are disbursed via check to the residence listed on the W-9 form you must complete; please note: you do not need to be currently working or pay taxes to complete the W-9, fill out pertinent information only (i.e., address, social or TIN, signature) if you have additional questions regarding this form please contact us via the email address listed below.
3- How many times can I apply for the Moving Forward Scholarship?
Currently, there is no limit.
4- Can I get scholarships if I took a break from school?
Yes, gap years taken will not negatively impact your score during the application review period as long as you are within the 17-29 year age range when applying to this scholarship and meet all of the requirements.
5- My immigration/citizenship status is complicated. Can I get financial aid? Do I still qualify to receive the Moving Forward Scholarship Award?
Yes, you may qualify for the award. Immigration/citizenship status will not negatively impact your chances of being awarded. Undocumented and DACA students are not able to access federal or state grants, but individual colleges and private scholarship providers may be able to help.
6- How Can I apply for the Moving Forward Scholarship?
You can apply in 3 steps:
1- Reading the application and making sure you qualify.
2- Organizing all of the required documents.
3- Submitting the 2024 Moving Forward Scholarship application + the required documents before JULY 15th, 2024.
